Is Emirates really that good? Flying Dubai Airport to Amsterdam Schiphol. Emirates is known for their incredible service and beautiful airplanes. This is the continued journey from Bangalore to Amsterdam and I'm assessing if Emirates is really that good. I've flown all over the world, with many different airlines so I'm very happy to share this Emirates flight experience with you on our way from Dubai Airport to Amsterdam Schiphol. Q Where are you from?
A I am born in former Yugoslavia. Mom is Serbian, Dad is Bosnian. During the '90's war we came to the Netherlands and I got Dutch nationality. Have been living in Amsterdam for over 5 years.

Q How can you afford to travel so much?
A I saved for 3 years while working full time and now travel vlogging is my job. I work together with tourism agencies but also do some freelance work on the side. You can watch this video: and this one: to learn more about my story.

Q What camera do you film with and what editing software do you use?
A Canon G7X Mark II and Final Cut Pro X

Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world 🙂

Q Why do you usually travel alone?
A Because my friends have jobs with limited holidays, kids and partners. Also I really like exploring on my own.

    I had a 11 hour layer over at Heathrow last year while flying to the USA. Like many Indians I am a vegetarian and I didn’t find much food besides snacks and waffles, luckily a sweet lady helped me out and took me to a restaurant known as Giraffe where I could find an Omelette. This year I am going via Amsterdam(Delta) hopefully it will be better.
    Moral of the story: Dont fly Economy class while going via Heathrow,

      Try Frankfurt. That’s also good, especially if you are on Star alliance member airline

      I had a bad experience with Lufthansa, basically, their pilots went on a strike. I had to stay in Frankfurt overnight…I don’t have star alliance membership either.

      That’s the risk of flying Lufthansa. Sometimes I feel their HQ is in Kerala 😛
      But connecting flights are many & airport is also good. Frankly in Europe, you don’t have much of options. For Canada, Europe is good, for US, go with Abu Dhabi as immigration is also cleared & layover time is fully utilized there itself thus saving time post landing in US.
      For rest of the flights towards East, it’s Singapore Changi all the way !!
      And try Singapore airlines, not because it’s star alliance airline but one the best airline in the world

      Vegetarians don’t egg so I guess you are flexible. When I travel, I used to request for customized sandwich and soups without meat or egg and most of them accommodate the request. You just have to ask and try your luck.

      Yes I wanted to comment this too 🙂 If you check in online, you can preorder a vegetarian meal. I love flying with Emirates too, if possible I always choose them! En welkom terug in NL!!

      In most Airlines, you can pre-select Asian vegetarian meal which is usually Indian Vegetarian food.

    You can get the veg option in Emirates even if the flight is not India bound. Just download the Emirates app and login with your PNR. Select your favorite meal option. You can do this in advance. If you have booked Emirates for your return flight for India then you can do it now and select your favorite seat as well. I hope you had a great Emirates A380 experience.

    You shouldn’t open windows in Dubai, else camel can come in 😛
    Anyway, it’s a good video. Btw, I feel you will soon become official brand ambassador of Wego.
    And yes, even with Emirates, you will have Indian crew. Infact, 60 pilots of Airbus A380, the biggest aircraft are Indians apart from many others who fly B777. But for pure vegetarians, food options are less on EK. The solution is to pre-book the meal. This is what I normally do

    There’ s nothing special about Emirates service on board as most of the cabin crew seem depressed, maybe due to work overload and lack of rest, poor salary and distance from their family as most of the cabin crew are not from the UAE. There is a huge turnover. Asian companies such as Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Korean Air or Cathay Pacific provide a better service on board.
