1) ADHERING TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IS A "NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY".

All members of society have a responsibility to adhere to the practices and precautions while combatting the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19, said Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the UAE health sector.
She attributed the increase in the number of cases during the past two days to some people’s disregard for important preventive measures such as wearing facemasks, social distancing and engaging in social activities such as family gatherings and handshaking.
"It has been noticed that the 20 to 40 age group is the most affected due to the wrong perception that their youth will protect them for being infected," she added, "due to the wrong perception that their youth will protect them from getting infected".

2) UAE ANNOUNCES 424 NEW CASES OF COVID-19, 2 DEATHS.

The UAE has announced 424 new cases of COVID-19, taking the overall tally in the country to 66,617.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) has said 70,079 coronavirus tests have been carried out nationwide in the past 24 hours.
There have been two further fatalities recorded, with the death toll rising to 372.
112 further recoveries have been reported, this means a total of 58,408 people have recuperated from COVID-19.
There are now 7,837 active cases receiving treatment across the UAE.

3) NCEMA DENIES REPORTS OF FIVE COVID-DEATHS IN ONE FAMILY.

The National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA) denies the validity of what has been circulated about the death of five members of one family as a result of contracting COVID-19.
NCEMA issued a statement via social media denying the reports circulating on television and social media outlets.
It said the matter had now been referred to Federal Emergency Crisis and Disasters Prosecution for appropriate legal action.

4) UAE DENIES SIGNING SECURITY PACT WITH ISRAEL.

The UAE's director of international security cooperation denies reports published by a section of Israeli media that the UAE and Israel had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on internal security.
According to the national news agency WAM, the reports inaccurately stated that the deal was part of the tripartite peace treaty signed between the UAE, Israel and United States earlier this month.

5) LIVE EVENTS TO RESTART IN DUBAI FROM SEPTEMBER 15.

Dubai Tourism advises members of business and leisure events industry of the official resumption of economic activities.
According to the circular from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), all local meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) events will be allowed to resume from September 15.
DTCM makes the distinction with international MICE events can restart from October 1.

6) TEAMS CONTINUE TO ARRIVE IN DUBAI AHEAD OF IPL2020.

The eight participating teams are arriving for the big event, where Dubai is set to host the first and final matches of the Cricket tournament.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings arrived in the UAE on Friday to begin quarantine.
All players have been tested for COVID-19 prior to departure, but they will now self-isolate for six days with further testing.
